Foley Family Wines & Spirits has named Jay Gifford as MD of its international markets, excluding the US.
Gifford (below) has assumed the newly created role and will lead sales for Foley’s US wine and spirits portfolio in all markets outside of the US. He will be based in Canterbury, southeast England.
The latest hire joins the company after eight years at WX & Grupo Penaflor, most recently as head of UK & Nordics, where he was in charge of the company’s brand portfolio including Bread & Butter and Trapiche. Gifford also held sales roles at Accolade Wines (Vinarchy), InterContinental Brands, Constellation Brands and Molson Coors.
He said: “International markets have an appetite for US wines at a variety of price points – particularly in the UK in the premium US$15+ per bottle price range (UK GBP12 equivalent) which is Foley’s sweet spot.”
Back in May, FFWS revealed it would take on the US distribution responsibilities for canned cocktail company Sabé Beverages.
