Manny’s Ultimate Mixes has brought Mexican chef Aarón Sánchez on board as an equity stakeholder and “brand partner”.
As part of the deal, Sánchez will develop recipes using the brand’s flagship ready-to-pour alcohol-free Bloody Mary Mix and Michelada. He will also release “cocktail and lifestyle content”, as well as representing the brand at trade shows and “retailer events”.
Financial details of the tie-up were not disclosed.
Founded by bartender Manny Ferreira in Connecticut in 2014, Manny’s Ultimate Mixes’ portfolio now comprises the two cocktail mixers and accessories such as chili salt (above), as well as an RTD michelada SKU produced with lager from Santa Monica Brew Works.
Manny’s Ultimate Bloody Mary and Manny’s Ultimate Michelada are packaged in 74cl mason jars, 100cl bottles and 379cl “party size” packs. The range is sold in 18 US states and is available direct to consumer via the brand’s website. In 2024, Ferreira recruited entrepreneur Spencer Rothschild, founder of rum maker Barrio Spirits, as a partner in the business, to expand the brand’s distribution footprint.
“During the past 18 months, Manny’s has seen incredible growth, and with chef Aarón Sánchez now on board as our partner, the future is even brighter,” said Rothschild. “I knew chef Aarón would embrace our Michelada, but his excitement for Manny’s Ultimate Bloody Mary was awesome. Having Aarón, his team and his colleagues on board will help make our vision and expansion a reality.”
Earlier this year, Coca-Cola HBC released a global campaign for its Three Cents mixers brand focused on “owning” the paloma cocktail serve and aperitivo consumption occasion.
