Lark Distilling Co has launched its namesake Australian whisky in Singapore Changi Airport, marking the brand’s debut in Asia’s global travel retail channel.
The Tasmanian single malt range is now available through GTR operator Lotte Duty Free in terminals one to four at Changi. The rollout is being supported by a branded in-store Lark “showcase” in Terminal Three.
The Singapore debut also marks the launch of a GTR exclusive extension, No166 Dark Lark (below), which has gone on sale at a per-bottle SRP of SGD119 (US$92).
In April, Lark Distilling Co announced a “full portfolio restructure”, including new branding that highlights the Tasmanian whisky’s provenance. At the time, the company cited a desire to expand overseas as the reason behind the brand refresh, framing “a new luxury audience in Asia and Europe” as its target market.
The publicly listed distiller has made several executive appointments over the past year; most recently, the hire of Brick Lane Brewing’s Paul Bowker as CFO in March, preceded by Four Pillars Gin founder Stuart Gregor as CEO last September.
