The CEO of Berry Bros & Rudd has outlined her intention to step down and will be replaced by the company’s CFO and UK MD.
Emma Fox (below) will leave the privately-owned alcohol merchant & brand owner “later this summer” following six years in the role. Replacing her as she looks to pursue a “portfolio career” will be current CFO Emily Rae and UK MD Rob Symington, who will become co-CEOs, London-headquartered BBR confirmed yesterday (6 May).
The company, which owns the No 3 London Dry gin brand, hired Symington (below, left) to lead its UK operations last August. He previously worked at his family’s Portugal-based port & wine business, Symington Family Estates, most recently as co-CEO alongside Charles Symington.
Rae (below, right) has been with BBR for ten years, joining in 2016 as head of financial planning, strategy & analysis.
In other recent personnel changes, Jamie Ritchie took up the post last year of MD of international & auctions in anticipation of the merchant’s US rollout. Five months ago, BBR bade farewell to veteran Natalie Tennent, who had worked at the central London headquarters since 1994 and moved to Pernod Ricard’s The Whisky Exchange.
