UK-based Berry Bros & Rudd has appointed Jamie Ritchie as the MD of international & auctions in anticipation of its US rollout later this year.
Ritchie (below) will join the company in August in the newly created role. He will report directly to CEO Emma Fox.
The latest hire previously held the position of worldwide chairman of Sotheby’s Wine & Spirits and joins the business following his role as COO of BlockBar, a global marketplace for fine wine and spirits. BBR has established the position off the back of the launch of its fine wine auctions, which debuted in October last year.
An expansion to the US is slated for the coming months.
Earlier this month, Pernod Ricard hired BBR veteran Natalie Tennent to become the MD of The Whisky Exchange.
