Pernod Ricard’s The Whisky Exchange is set to welcome Natalie Tennent as its next MD.
The role, which oversees not only the namesake off-premise and online sales operator but also Speciality Drinks and Whisky Auction, will transition from incumbent Olivier Gasperin to Tennent on 7 July. Gasperin, who has been deputy MD since March 2022, “will be returning to Pernod Ricard HQ at the end of June”.
Tennent (below) has been working for Berry Bros & Rudd in London since 1994. Having started with the wine & spirits retailer & brand owner as a regional management accountant, she moved through the ranks – including nine years as financial controller for the Cutty Sark blended scotch whisky – finishing her 30-year tenure as chief commercial officer, a position she has held since late 2020.
“I would like to take the opportunity to thank Olivier Gasperin, … who has been instrumental in the past 3.5 years in managing the integration of The Whisky Exchange into the Pernod Ricard group, while keeping … its complete neutrality,” said Pernod Ricard’s direct-to-consumer business unit CEO, Nicolas Oudinot.
“We are delighted to have Natalie on board. With her extensive experience in international business development of fine wines and spirits, I am confident that she will successfully lead the company on its journey to becoming the global destination for connoisseurs and enthusiasts of fine spirits.”
Pernod Ricard acquired The Whisky Exchange in 2021 from brothers Rajbir and Sukhinder Singh.
