Belgium-based Bostocap has unveiled a consumer-facing app that will be able to utilise artificial intelligence to make future spirits purchase recommendations.
Copa Drinks is available to download now for use on smartphones. Consumers can use the app via their camera to not only access tasting notes but also to “engage directly with the distillery”. Bostocap, which specialises in stoppers and capsules for spirits producers, intends to add “AI-driven suggestions” to Copa Drinks in the future that will recommend other spirits based on the consumer’s saved and liked selections.
“This revolutionary app is designed to provide spirit enthusiasts with an immersive experience, uncovering the stories behind their favourite spirits and benefit for free from a wealth of information all centralised in one place directly on your mobile phones,” the company said.
Most spirits brand owners are capitalising on the consumer’s keenness to capitalise on modern technology in their marketing. Treasury Wine Estates, for example, has an app for its 19 Crimes wine brand that animates characters on the bottles’ labels.
