US-based Whiskey Jypsi has named Tate Troelstrup as its CEO, a newly created position for the business.
Troelstrup (below) joins the Nashville, Tennessee-based company to “guide the company through its next phase of growth”. The distiller described the appointment as a “significant move as Whiskey Jypsi scales its footprint nationally”.
Troelstrup previously held senior roles at Heaven Hill Brands, WhistlePig Whiskey and was most recently CEO of Purity Distillery in Sweden. His start date at the helm was not immediately available.
Since launching in 2020, Jypsi’s products – including the blended Legacy collection and Explorer Series of bourbons – are now available in 12 states.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Tate to the helm,” said co-founder Raj Alva. “His entrepreneurial spirit, deep industry knowledge and love for the craft of whiskey make him the perfect fit to lead our company into the future.”
Fellow founder Eric Church added: “Tate brings the ideal mix of creative energy and operational discipline to the brand.”
In other American whiskey news this week, scotch producer Loch Lomond Group headed across the Atlantic to purchase The New York Distilling Co.
