Scotch whisky producer Loch Lomond Group has headed across the Atlantic to purchase The New York Distilling Co.

The transaction, financial details of which were not disclosed, sees the 14-year-old American whiskey company join privately-owned Loch Lomond’s ranks. The New York Distilling Co, which owns the Jaywalk rye whiskey brand, also produces Mister Katz Rock & Rye as well as the Dorothy Parker and Perry’s Tot gin marks.

The portfolio is distilled at NYDC’s facility in Brooklyn.

“This acquisition represents another milestone in the continued growth of the Loch Lomond Group,” said founder & CEO Colin Matthews. “We look forward to working closely with the … team at NYDC to invest in both the facilities and products, while supercharging its growth both domestically in the US and around the world through the existing Loch Lomond Group distribution network … .”

Loch Lomond’s brand stable contains the namesake single malt alongside Glen Scotia and Littlemill, as well as Ben Lomond gin and Glen’s vodka. Earlier this year, the company commenced construction of a new distillery – its fourth – on the banks of Loch Lomond itself. The site at Luss in Dumbartonshire, which will include a visitor centre, is scheduled to open next month.
