The chief financial & strategy officer at Treasury Wine Estates has informed the group of his intention to retire later this year.

Stuart Boxer (below), who joined Treasury in mid-2020 having spent 11 years with Dulux Group in Australia, will stand down from the role he assumed in November 2023. The executive will leave the group at the end of September, according to a filing to the Australian Securities Exchange today (4 March).

Subsequently, the Penfolds owner said in the filing that a “comprehensive internal and external search for a successor” has been launched.

“I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Stuart for his service over the past six years, and in particular for his help in ensuring my smooth transition into the business,” said CEO Sam Fischer, who replaced Tim Ford at the helm in September last year. “I look forward to Stuart’s continued contribution over the coming months as we drive our focus on execution and shaping the future of the business through the ‘TWE Ascent’ programme.”

In results from the six months to the end of December (H1 of fiscal 2026), announced last month, Treasury reported a 16.6% fall in year-on-year sales, which came in at AUD1.3bn (US$917.2m).
