AB InBev is reportedly in negotiations to buy US-based RTD brand BeatBox Beverages.

A report in The Wall Street Journal claimed a deal would value BeatBox at around US$700m. Citing sources familiar with the matter, the publication added that the sale could come together “soon”, providing the talks don’t fall through.

Global Drinks Intel has contacted both AB InBev and Beatbox for comment on the speculation.

BeatBox lineup

Founded in 2011, Texas-based BeatBox produces 11.1% ABV, fruit-flavoured punches and teas sold in brightly coloured 50cl Tetra Pak cartons. The brand, which counts investor Mark Cuban among its early backers as well as former basketball player Shaquille O’Neal more recently, was reportedly on track to generate around $175m in revenue in 2024.

The deal would see Beatbox join Cutwater Spirits and vodka-based Nütrl among AB InBev’s RTD lineup, launching the latter four years ago. The company announced a new campaign and flavour extension for Nütrl in February.
