The US supply chain and manufacturing services arm of White Claw owner Mark Anthony Group is set to cut 143 positions at its facility in New Jersey.

Mark Anthony Brewing confirmed the redundancies at its Hillside site in a Worker Adjustment & Retraining Notification (WARN) filing late last week. The unit said that layoffs are expected to begin on 26 September, and will be completed by 3 November.

The business added in a statement to Global Drinks Intel that it has “temporarily paused operations due to the recent alcohol industry slowdown”, while retaining the aim of “resuming operations at a suitable time in the future”.

Mark Anthony Brewing’s executive VP, Colin Nolan, said: “We are a family business and are approaching this transition with care and respect for our team members, offering meaningful support throughout the process.”

According to the company’s website, the Hillside location was Mark Anthony Group’s first in-house manufacturing site, with initial production beginning in mid-2020.

In March, Mark Anthony Group’s spirits division appointed a new MD, with Enda O’Sullivan making way for Brendan Buckley.
