Actor Dolph Lundgren has partnered with the founder of Bacardi’s Leblon cachaça brand to release a new vodka in the US.
Hard Cut, which is potato-based and distilled in Idaho, is being positioned as an “all-American vodka” by Lundgren and Steve Luttmann, who worked with the actor and wife Emma Krokdal to “build” the couple’s brand. Luttman set up Leblon back in 2005 before selling the brand to Bacardi ten years later.
With an ABV of 45%, Hard Cut debuts this week in California with plans in place to “strategically launch (in) key markets in the US throughout 2025”. A 70cl bottle retails at US$25.99.
Lundgren’s vodka arrival follows two high-profile departures from the category in recent years. Brown-Forman withdrew from vodka in June 2023, divesting its Finlandia brand to Coca-Cola HBC for US$220m, while more recently, Constellation Brands offloaded Svedka to Sazerac Co for an undisclosed fee three months ago.
