De Kuyper Royal Distillers has strengthened its hand in spirits’ alcohol-free segment, as the Peachtree liqueur brand prepares its non-alc debut.
Peachtree, which to date has extended only into RTDs, will launch a 0%-ABV Sex on the Beach premix and draught version in its owner’s home market of the Netherlands in May. The move precedes the planned release of a further three non-alc premixes from De Kuyper’s namesake brand across Europe, in June.
The De Kuyper Batched 0.0% line comprises Pornstar Martini, Mojito and Strawberry Daiquiri and sits alongside the five-strong De Kuyper Zero portfolio that features the three variants along with Sex on the Beach and Margarita.
The non-alcoholic extensions were unveiled at ProWein earlier this month where global sales & distribution director Lucien Heusy told Global Drinks Intel that the new iterations offer a “hassle-free way to serve top-quality cocktails every time”.
He said: “It’s the perfect solution for busy venues like festival bars, event spaces, nightclubs and cruise ships… guaranteeing great flavour and presentation with every pour.”
Global marketing director Godelief van Erve added: “Sex on the Beach is the number four cocktail of the global top ten cocktails consumed in on-trade establishments. Among Gen Z consumers, it ranks even higher as the third most popular cocktail worldwide served at on-trade venues.
“As Peachtree remains the most widely-used peach liqueur for this iconic cocktail, it was obvious for us to support outlets to conveniently serve this famous drink in the best possible quality.”
In late 2022, De Kuyper cornered the peach liqueur market, acquiring the Archers schnapps brand from Diageo for an undisclosed price.
