The namesake high-end Tequila from Casa Komos Brands Group is on its way over the Atlantic as the three-strong portfolio readies for a UK entry.
Tequila Komos, which welcomed E&J Gallo Winery as a part-owner last year, is in the process of rolling out to selected off-premise specialists in the country. Priced at GBP115 [US$141] per 70cl bottles of the Añejo Cristalino and Reposado Rosa expressions, and GBP385 for the Extra Añejo, Casa Komos will look to build on its initial release in December in London’s Selfridges department store.
All three have an ABV of 40%.
As part of its divestment of a holding in Komos to Gallo, Casa Komos passed US distribution responsibilities to the wine giant last year. Specific details about the transaction were not disclosed by either party.
The brand’s claimed unique selling point is its use of ex-wine barrels in the maturation process. Earlier this month, the 818 Tequila portfolio also kicked off its UK release.
