The 818 Tequila brand is heading across the Atlantic with a UK roll-out lined up this month.
All three expressions – the Blanco, Reposado and Añejo – have been released to the country’s on- and off-premise channels this week. The move adds the UK to 818’s list of markets, which comprises Canada, China, Dubai, the US and selected Caribbean countries.
Import and distribution responsibilities have been assigned to London-based Spirit Cartel.
The roll-out programme commences with an exclusive off-premise presence in Selfridges stores until the beginning of April when the brand will be extended to spirits specialists The Whiskey Exchange and Master of Malt.
The portfolio, along with UK SRPs, features:
- Blanco – GBP48 [US$57] per 70cl bottle
- Reposado – GBP56
- Añejo – GBP65
818 takes its name from the area code for Calabasas in California, which is home to co-founder Kendall Jenner.
Earlier this month, Tequila peer Gran Coramino confirmed the recipients of its US$500,000 funding project in the US for ethnic minority-owned small businesses.
