Rémy Cointreau has lined up a rugby-led push in the UK for the VSOP expression of flagship cognac Rémy Martin, ahead of Father’s Day later this month.
Set to appear in the country’s on- and off-premise channels between now and Sunday 21 June, the campaign centres around a VSOP gift pack, highlighting its sponsorship of the Barbarian FC rugby team. The limited-edition pack is on sale through “major grocery retailers” across the UK.
As well as in-store and online activity, Rémy Martin VSOP has been partnered with retired rugby player Dan Biggar for social media and digital content in the run up to Father’s Day.
“Rugby continues to provide a rich territory for Rémy Martin VSOP to reach premium dark spirits drinkers in the UK,” the brand owner’s UK unit said. “This latest wave of the campaign will be supported by high-impact in-store activations to drive incremental sales for the category during the Father’s Day gifting season.”
Rémy Cointreau scrambled to parity for its full-year sales in late April, booking an 8.9% top-line rise from the three months to the end of March. The quarterly lift offset the 11% slide in fiscal Q2, resulting in fiscal 2026 finishing at +0.2% on the year prior.
