Pernod Ricard’s Código 1530 has been named the ‘official tequila sponsor’ of this year’s Stagecoach Music Festival in the US.
The sponsorship will feature the Código Tequila Cantina, an on-site Texas dance-hall-inspired barroom that “pays homage to” the brand’s co-founder & country singer George Strait. Earlier this year, Pernod Ricard released a Código 1530 George Strait Special Edition – an añejo tequila that was aged for two years in French oak cabernet barrels – for US$109.99
The brand has also released a Stagecoach limited-edition reposado iteration for the festival in Indio, California from 25-27 April. At the same time, a ‘Cowboys & Dreamers’ margarita cocktail kit has gone on sales in the US, featuring Código’s blanco expression with two bottles of watermelon juice and Código-branded agave nectar, at an SRP of $64.99.
A ‘deluxe’ kit, priced at $109.99, includes a limited-edition copy of Strait’s album of the same name.
“This year at Stagecoach we’ll be paying tribute to the roots of Código co-founder, George Strait, by bringing a quintessential piece of Texas music history to the west coast,” said Pernod Ricard’s Código 1530 brand director, Jessica Hochberg.
Back in 2022, the tequila brand lined up an extension of its tie-up with Playboy through the release of a second limited-edition iteration.
