Pernod Ricard-controlled Código 1530 has lined up an extension of its tie-up with Playboy through the release of a second limited-edition Tequila expression.
The company, which welcomed Pernod Ricard as a majority stakeholder last month, is releasing 1.953 units of Rare Hare Añejo Conejo, denoting the year that Playboy magazine debuted. The iteration, which spent 18 months in ex-Cabernet wine barrels made from French white oak before a further six months in ex-Cognac casks, is the second Tequila from Playboy’s Rare Hare brand.
A total of 1,530 bottles of Rare Hare Double Barrel Añejo hit US shelves late last year.
Like its predecessor, Rare Hare Añejo Conejo will go on sale through spirits specialist outlets in the US as well as online from Código 1530 and Playboy’s websites. The new release is priced at US$990 per unit, $90 more than the first iteration.
