Canada-based Corby Spirit & Wine has added five years to its production deal with contract distiller Hiram Walker & Sons.
Corby, which is majority owned by Pernod Ricard, said in a brief statement yesterday that the deal with Ontario-based Hiram Walker, due to end yesterday (30 September), includes production and “administrative services”. Following board approval, Hiram Walker is now set to produce an unspecified number of Corby’s brands until 30 September 2031.
Hiram Walker produces Canadian whisky marks including JP Wiser’s and Lot No 40 for Corby at its namesake distillery in Ontario.
“These agreements provide long-term continuity for the production of Corby’s brands and reinforce the strength of our relationship with Hiram Walker,” said Corby CEO Florence Tresarrieu. “…We are proud to continue building brands rooted in Canadian whisky heritage, quality and craftsmanship.”
Last month, Corby sold the Lamb’s rum brand and “certain assets” to Phildan and Compagnie Financière Européenne de Prise de Participation (COFEPP) for CAD$39.2m (US$27.8m).
