Nemiroff claimed the arrangement, announced late last week, will see its namesake Ukrainian vodka brand benefit from Southern Glazer’s extensive presence in Canada which covers around 2,600 off-premise outlets and 4,000 on-premise venues nationwide. When contacted by Global Drinks Intel, a spokesperson said the company had a very limited presence in some Canadian regions previously through a small number of distribution partners.
Nemiroff’s full product range, which includes the recently launched ultra-premium expression Lex by Nemiroff, the premium De Luxe, and the flavoured The Ink Collection, will be available in all of the country’s provinces from the third quarter of this year.
“There is a clear trend towards premium and craft spirits [in Canada,” said Southern Glazer’s Canada GM, Doug Wieland. “We are confident that Nemiroff’s offerings will resonate well with the market.”
Speaking exclusively to Global Drinks Intel earlier this year, CEO Yuriy Sorochynskiy said that since the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, Nemiroff’s exports had increased by almost 50% as overseas demand for Ukrainian products grew.
