Mast-Jägermeister has hired the former head of Rémy Cointreau, Frederic Pflanz, as the deputy chair of its supervisory board.

Pflanz (below, left) joins the Jägermeister brand owner’s board while retaining his current role as CFO of family-owned holding company Maxingvest. He will replace Moritz Hahn, who has stepped down from the board for personal reasons, and takes over as deputy chair from Berndt-Michael Winter, who has been a member of the board since 2004.

The new hire’s previous roles include around two decades at L’Oréal Group, followed by positions as CFO for three years and COO/CEO (2012-2014) at Rémy Cointreau. Pflanz left the Rémy Martin owner at the end of 2014.

“Jägermeister, much like [Maxingvest-owned] Tchibo and Beiersdorf, is a traditional family-owned company with very strong brands,” said the company’s chair & majority shareholder, Florian Rehm (above, right). “We are delighted to have Frederic Pflanz, an experienced expert in finance, controlling, business development & M&A, IT, and corporate governance, as well as the global spirits industry, join our supervisory board.”

“He will provide us with important impulses for the further development of Jägermeister.”

Last month, Mast-Jägermeister redrew its regional leadership structure as UK MD Michael Cleary moved up to the VP role for Northern & Western Europe.
