La Martiniquaise-Bardinet has brought a third gin brand into its portfolio, buying a majority holding in UK-based Warner’s Distillery.
The transaction, announced today, sees the French multi spirits-category group spend an unspecified sum on an unspecified size of holding in Warner’s. The purchase comes just over two years after LMB added the Generous brand to its Gibson’s gin through the takeover of French compatriot Ôdevie Creative Spirits Co.
Married couple Tom and Tina Warner, who founded the business in 2012, will remain with the company, which is based on a farm near Northampton in the middle of England.
As well as the namesake gin, Warner’s also produces Trash & Treasure, a line of spirits using food waste that includes Tropical Rum, Citrus Vodka, Banana Rum and Raspberry Vodka.
‘We are very proud to see Warner’s Distillery join the LMB group of companies alongside our portfolio of internationally renowned brands,” said international director Christophe Pichambert. “Warner’s Gin is a true gem of the English craft gin landscape with its farm-grown and distilled botanicals.
“Our goal will be to help Tom and Tina bring their wonderful spirit to the world … .’
LMB’s most recent acquisition brought rum mark Cacique into the portfolio from Diageo. In January, the company’s Bardinet unit paid an undisclosed sum for the Venezuelan brand, positioned at the time as a “strategic addition … which will help us to increase our rum market share in Spain and beyond”.
