International Beverage has released two limited editions from Old Pulteney, a 30- and a 50-year-old, to mark the single malt brand’s 200th anniversary this year.
The two ultra-premium bottlings have gone on sale this week, with 1,000 bottles of the 30-year-old and 200 of the 50-year-old available. International Beverage, which is part of Thai Beverage Public Co, said the pair will be rolled out through “select specialist partners” across “key” markets, including China, France, Japan, the UK and the US, as well as in global travel retail, starting from this month.
Old Pulteney’s 50-year-old is bottled at 40.8% ABV and has an SRP of GBP20,000 (US$26,860) for 70cl. The 30-year-old is 50.4% ABV and has an SRP of GBP1,750 (US$2,348).
The launch will be accompanied by a marketing campaign, titled ‘Character Runs Deep’, from later this month. Global Drinks Intel has requested further information on activations.
International Beverage global marketing director Fiona Kennie said: “This is a proud moment for everyone at Old Pulteney as we celebrate a much-loved whisky that has held its unique coastal character for two centuries, while unveiling a new era for the brand as we look ahead to the next 200 years.”
In April, the brand owner detailed a marketing repositioning of its Larsen cognac, focusing on the brand’s founder’s native roots.
