Gordon & MacPhail has appointed Mark Geary as CEO, confirming him in the role after a period as interim head of the scotch whisky distiller.
Geary (below) takes charge with immediate effect, following the announcement of his predecessor Phillip White’s departure in May. Global Drinks Intel understands that Geary has held the CEO position in an interim capacity at the Elgin-headquartered business since July.
His experience includes eight years most recently at consulting agency Big Blue Boat, where he was MD. Prior to that, Geary spent 18 years at Edrington holding several roles including global strategic marketing director.
In other scotch news earlier this week, International Beverage made the decision to reshape the leadership team for its spirits operations. The restructure will see the Balblair, Old Pulteney and Hankey Bannister brand owner’s longstanding employee – and current UK MD – Malcolm Leask, stand down.
