Blue Note bourbon owner BR Distilling Co has promoted its sales VP, Chris Crosbie, to fill the long-vacant position of CEO.

Crosbie (below), who has worked in the alcohol industry since 2002, is moving up after only 19 months with the business. According to the Memphis-based company, the CEO role has been empty “for the past two years”.

Prior to joining BR Distilling in February last year, Crosbie, who hails from Scotland, was a regional sales director for Mijenta tequila brand owner Altos Planos Collective.  A 16-year stint with Diageo saw him move from the UK to Florida in 2011 to take the role of commercial director for venture markets in Central America & the Caribbean.

Crosbie left Diageo seven years ago, having risen to become commercial VP in the US.

“Chris has demonstrated exceptional leadership and vision during his tenure,” said BR Distilling’s chair, Rob DelPriore. “His ability to build strong customer relationships, deliver consistent growth, and inspire teams across the organisation makes him the ideal leader to take Blue Note into its next chapter.”

Founded in 2014, BR Distilling claims to be the oldest licensed distillery in Memphis, Tennessee.
