Campari Group has announced the appointment of industry newcomer Elena Anfosso as its next chief HR officer.
Anfosso (below), who joins the Aperol owner in July, will move across from British American Tobacco after seven years, the last four of which were based in London. While the Milan-headquartered group did not provide details of who Anfosso is replacing, its group head of HR, David Souperbiet, left the company after four years in the role back in November last year.
A company spokesperson subsequently confirmed Souperbiet’s departure when contacted by Global Drinks Intel.
Anfosso’s career in HR started with GSK Consumer Healthcare, with whom she was HR director for Greece, Israel and Italy – based out of Milan – from 2016 to 2018. A move to Rome and BAT followed in early 2019, before she headed to London to become regional HR director for Europe, and then Europe & Americas, between 2022 and August last year. Her final role with the company was as global HR lead of transformation, also in London.
According to Campari Group, Anfosso will be responsible for “driving [its] global people agenda, in line with the company’s strategy, further strengthening its culture and its commitment to fostering a dynamic and inclusive workplace where Camparistas can thrive and contribute to the group’s ongoing success”.
In results for the first three months of this year, announced two weeks ago, group sales came in up by 2.9% on the corresponding quarter in 2025. The company described the results as a “solid performance in the smallest quarter”.
