The privately-owned company, which is headquartered at its wine retail outlet in central London, commenced trading at the spirits shop on the same site this week. Berry Bros, which also owns the No. 3 London Dry Gin brand, will stock “almost 1,000 products from around the world” at the new store.
According to creative director Geordie Willis, the interior of the shop features “reclaimed oak barrel staves from old whisky casks”.
Coinciding with the opening of the site, Berry Bros has unveiled an exclusive 1997 single malt scotch from the Bowmore Distillery on Islay. The 55% ABV expression is limited to 100 units, each of which are individually numbered and on sale for GBP1,000 (US$1,255) in the shop and on the company’s website.
Late last year, Berry Bros partnered with Symington Family Estates to acquire Hambledon Vineyard in the UK for just over $27m.
