Seychelles rum brand Takamaka has strengthened its presence in Europe, adding two new markets.
Germany-based Kirsch Import has commenced distribution of the rum in both its home country and in neighbouring Luxembourg. The pair bring Takamaka’s export market count to 50.
The brand has debuted in Germany and Luxembourg this week.
“After a hugely successful 2023, which saw expansion into 17 new markets, including its first entry into Asia in collaboration with Bring the Rocks in Taiwan and La Maison du Whisky across Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, Cambodia and Vietnam, Takamaka is looking to continue its success into the new year,” said brand owner Trois Frères Distillery.
Kirsch handles the German distribution for a raft of rum brands, including Colombia’s Dictador, Hampden Estate and Navy Island from Jamaica and Savanna from the neighbouring Indian Ocean island of Réunion.
Four months ago, Spain-headquartered Zamora Co took on the importation and distribution duties in several southern European markets for Panama rum brand Ron Abuelo.
