Trade organisation the Consorzio di Tutela del Prosecco DOC has signed a three-year agreement with the Internazionali BNL d’Italia tennis tournament.
The partnership sees the consortium named ‘official partner’ and ‘official sparkling wine’ of the event, which began on Monday (4 May) in Rome and will run until 17 May. To mark the sponsorship, Prosecco DOC has released a 16-second video (below) which will be aired locally.
The BNL tournament is part of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) and Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) international circuit.
The sponsorship deal includes having Prosecco DOC’s logo on all official marketing materials and on courts with TV coverage – including centre court, as well as branded social media content and a presence in hospitality areas, the consortium told Global Drinks Intel. A number of producers will supply prosecco for the tournament but the sponsorship deal is not linked to any one brand.
It follows other sporting partnerships for the sparkling-wine consortium, most recently at the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, where it was the ‘official sparkling wine sponsor’.
Last year, Campari Group commenced the third year of its Aperol US Open sponsorship while Pernod Ricard secured a tie-up with the Australian Open for the Altos tequila mark.
