US packaging company Rev-O-Box has developed a box that can be used for shipping wine before being turned into a gift box.
The reversible packaging has been designed to reduce waste in the supply chain and is targeted at “retailers, brands, e-commerce stores, wineries, subscription companies and direct-to-consumer businesses”. The boxes are currently available in Canada, Mexico and the US – delivery outside of these three markets is available but carries a minimum order requirement of 250 boxes.
The new-to-market company has launched a range of box sizes for categories including coffee and confectionery, and has released a video (below) showing how the packs work.
“As online gifting continues to grow, retailers are looking for innovative ways to improve the customer experience while offering more sustainable packaging solutions,” the start-up said. “Rev-O-Box combines shipping and gifting into one package, providing consumers with a convenient gift-ready presentation while helping reduce the need for separate gift wrap.”
Global Drinks Intel has contacted Rev-O-Box for further information on the business.
Earlier this month, Bacardi released details of an extension of its cruise ship-focused tie-up with circular packaging specialist Ecospirits for the former’s namesake rum brand.
