Frederic Landtmeters, who has been president of Molson Coors Canada since late 2016, will vacate the role in April. His decision to “move closer to his family in Belgium” brings an end to his time with the company, which included almost two years as MD of the UK & Ireland and an earlier couple of years in Prague where he was CCO for the Europe region.

Landtmeters also spent four years with rival Anheuser-Busch InBev in Belgium between 2006 and 2010.

The Canada position will retain an AB InBev link: The country’s next president for Molson Coors will be Chantalle Butler, who worked for the former’s Labatt Breweries division in Canada for almost eight years to mid 2009.

Butler will move up on 2 April from the CFO position at Molson Coors Canada that she assumed in March 2019. Butler is also the chair of off-premise beer multiple The Beer Store.

“Butler’s promotion comes as Molson Coors’ strategy is paying off – driving growth in all regions and all segments of Canada,” the group said. “Coors Light and Molson Canadian are now the number one and number two brands in Ontario, and both grew volume, revenue and industry share nationally in 2023.

“[Last year,] Molson Coors grew more share of the on-premise, encompassing bars, restaurants and other venues, than any other major brewer in the country.”

Earlier this month, the company booked a 9.3% year-on-year increase in total sales from the 12 months of 2023. The performance was the best for the year among the multinational beer brand owners, just ahead of second-best Carlsberg’s +9.2% sales lift.
