High-end Tequila brand owner Casa Del Sol has recruited a former Diageo and Heineken executive to become its chief growth officer.
Scott Blazek moves across to the company from Breakthru Beverage Group, which he joined from Heineken’s US division in 2015. Prior to his seven years with the brewer, he also spent ten years with Diageo where he rose to be director of national trade marketing in the US prior to his departure in 2007.
At Casa Del Sol, Blazek will head up commercial operations for the namesake brand, including assuming responsibility for sales and distribution.
The Casa Del Sol portfolio, which is available across the US, is aged in ex-Cognac barrels. The Blanco expression carries an SRP of around US$65 per 750ml bottle.
Late last month, Jose Cuervo brand owner Cuervo reported a near-19% rise in sales from the three months to the end of June. The performance was marred by a flat showing for the company in its ‘US & Canada’ reporting region.
