Viña Concha y Toro has refreshed the “corporate identity” of its Californian wine business, switching from Fetzer Vineyards to Bonterra Organic Estates.
Fetzer, which is based in the state’s Mendocino County, inherited Chile-headquartered CyT as its new owner 11 years ago. The Casillero del Diablo brand owner paid US$238m to Brown-Forman for the wine business, which included not only the Fetzer brand but also organic wine sector leader Bonterra.
This month’s announcement “communicates the ethos of our California-based business and aligns with our dedication to regenerative organic farming,” said the unit’s CEO, Giancarlo Bianchetti.
As well as Fetzer and Bonterra, the division, which owns almost 390 hectares of vineyards in Mendocino, also produces the 1000 Stories brand.
CyT will announce its results from the first six months of this year tomorrow.
