Sparkling wine group Ferrari Trento has appointed Campari Group’s former head of global travel retail operations as its GM.
Marco Cavagnera (below) made the move across from one Italian brand owner to another last month, Ferrari Trento announced today (9 April). The switch brings to an end the executive’s 11 years with Campari Group, which culminated in three-and-a-half years as its MD for GTR.
With responsibility for “all corporate functions excluding finance and legal”, Cavagnera will report in to CEO Matteo Bruno Lunelli, who also heads up Ferrari Trento’s parent company, Gruppo Lunelli.
Prior to starting in 2015 with Campari Group, initially as a regional director for partnership markets in southern Europe, Cavagnera also worked for Heineken in Italy, from 2000 to 2006. Details of who will be replacing him as GTR MD were not immediately available, although Global Drinks Intel has contacted the Aperol brand owner for further details.
Ferrari Trento had been a high-profile sponsor of Formula One up until last year. The brand initially secured a three-year tie-up with the motor racing organiser in 2021 and extended the arrangement up to the end of the 2025 season three years ago.
