Duppy Share Rum is upping its efforts in the UK, the brand’s largest market, through a sales and distribution tie-up with Proof Drinks.
The company, which owns the namesake brand as well as the Pink Ting-A-Ling RTD range, is shifting from a direct-distribution model that had employed Tortuga Logistics. The move sees Duppy Share’s White, Spiced, Aged and XO expressions rub shoulders with the likes of Diageo’s recently-acquired coffee liqueur, Mr Black, on Proof Drinks’ books.
When contacted by Global Drinks Intel, a spokesperson for the brand owner said the UK accounts for around 27,000 nine-litre cases of its 35,000-case-per-year volumes.
“As rum continues to premiumise, there is a huge opportunity which we believe Duppy Share is perfectly placed to exploit,” said Proof Drinks MD John Vider.
Duppy Share is also present in Australia, Belgium, Czech, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, the Netherlands and Singapore.
As well as Mr Black, Proof Drinks handles UK distribution for Cazcabel Tequila and Heaven Hill Brands.
Earlier this month, Groupe Bernard Hayot acquired UK distributor Mangrove through its Spiribam division.
