The nine locations for the seats have been chosen for “their remarkable sunsets, scenic beauty and cultural significance”.

Anheuser-Busch InBev is providing seats from this summer’s Olympic Games venues at nine sites globally, ahead of the start of the tournament in Paris later this week.

The activation forms part of the sponsorship arrangement between the brewer and the IOC fronted by the alcohol-free Corona extension, Corona Cero. Opening today, the banks of seats are available to the public through Corona Cero’s ‘For Every Golden Moment’ marketing platform, which was announced last month.

The locations comprise:

  • Grand Peninsula Lagonissi in Athens, Greece
  • Thames Riverfront in Battersea, London, the UK (above)
  • Arpoador Beach in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
  • Café Del Mar in Cartagena, Colombia
  • Coatepeque Volcano, El Salvador
  • San Carlos de Bariloche, Argentina
  • Pichilemu in Punta de Lobos, Chile
  • Morito Beach in Kanagawa, Japan, and
  • Three locations in Cape Town, South Africa

According to AB InBev, the selected sites underline Corona’s marketing position of “promoting outdoor experiences and encouraging environmental stewardship”.

Corona Global VP Clarissa Pantoja said: “By bringing the same seats as from Olympic Games stadiums used throughout Paris to these … locations worldwide, we are reminding fans that golden moments not only exist within the Olympic Games, but also in the beauty of nature that’s around all of us.”

Having posted a 2.6% top-line rise in Q1 earlier this year, A-B InBev will report its results for the six months to the end of June on 1 August.
