Bronco Wine Co has agreed a deal with California peer Wente Family Estates to provide support for the latter’s portfolio of brands in the US.
The “strategic national partnership”, the duration of which was not disclosed, will see Wente leverage Bronco’s sales team to “support” its existing distributors and customers. Bronco will not be taking over the physical distribution of the company’s portfolio, however.
Further specific details about the arrangement were not immediately available.
“By combining Wente’s winemaking heritage, respected brands and long-standing relationships in the market with Bronco’s national commercial infrastructure, the partnership will allow greater focus on execution, distributor engagement and customer development for the Wente brands across the country,” the pair said in a statement this week.
“Our partnership with Bronco is about building greater commercial strength behind Wente and positioning the brand to win in an increasingly competitive marketplace,” said Wente’s chief revenue officer, Aly Wente. “Their scale and strength in the field will allow us to broaden our reach, accelerate execution and create new opportunities with our customers.”
Bronco’s CEO, Dom Engels, added: “As we continue to expand our premium wine offerings, we’re intentionally seeking partners whose values, heritage and pursuit of excellence align with our own.
“Wente has spent five generations building one of California’s most admired wine brands, and we are honoured to represent it on a national scale, consciously growing the brand while preserving its legacy.”
Throughout this year so far, Bronco has signed similar strategic partnerships with the Brilliant Mistake and When She Was King brands and – last month – with Jordan Vineyard & Winery.
