Stoli Group has announced a resumption of operations in the US, ten months after declaring its division in the country bankrupt.
Back in January, the Stoli vodka brand owner commenced the liquidation process not only for Stoli Group USA but also its Kentucky Owl American whiskey business. The development came just over a year after the pair entered voluntary bankruptcy, a step that the group’s CEO at the time, Chris Caldwell, said would “enable us to conduct the financial restructuring required”.
In a LinkedIn post today (6 November), Stoli Group announced that it is “returning to the US market with our full portfolio of brands”. Included with the post is an image (below) featuring seven brands, including Kah tequila, Bayou rum and Writers’ Tears Irish whiskey, as well as Stoli, but not Kentucky Owl.
“Working alongside our longstanding distribution partners, and with stock already in the country, we’re ready to build momentum and grow our presence across the US,” the post continues. “Thank you to our partners, customers and teams for your continued commitment.
“We look forward to building this next chapter together.”
Global Drinks Intel has contacted the company requesting further information.
Privately-owned Stoli Group has not been far from the headlines throughout 2026, with its Amber Latvijas Balzams division in Latvia running into financial trouble and Amber Beverage UK going into administration.
Last month, owner Yuri Shefler claimed in an interview that the business had been the subject of a “corporate raid” by a member of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s “inner circle”.
