The US division of A-B InBev has doubled its investment commitment in the country through the ‘Brewing Futures’ initiative to US$600m.

The programme was launched last year to create and sustain manufacturing jobs for those working for Anheuser-Busch. The initiative initially promised a $300m injection for the Bud Light brewer’s US manufacturing operations across 2025 and 2026.

With the latest move from the scheme, Anheuser-Busch is opening 15 ‘technical skills training centres’ at its facilities in the country and “collaborating with technical trade schools” to educate new talent. Brewing Futures also aims to help military veterans pursue manufacturing careers via a collaboration with the ‘Heroes Make America Talent Network’ platform.

“Anheuser-Busch’s $600m investment is a testament to our unwavering commitment to the future of American manufacturing,” said the unit’s CEO, Brendan Whitworth.

“By strengthening our manufacturing operations, we are creating sustainable careers – not just jobs – and investing in the people who are vital to our success. We are proud to continue building the next generation of manufacturing leaders through our new technical training centres while also providing new opportunities in the workforce for our nation’s veterans.”

Three months ago, Anheuser-Busch announced a $30m upgrade for production and packaging operations at its Jacksonville brewery and canning plant in Florida under the programme. In December, meanwhile, the division confirmed plans to sell its facility in Newark, New Jersey, and shutter production sites in Fairfield, California, and Merrimack, New Hampshire.
