AB InBev’s US unit is set to spend US$9.2m on its production facility in Cartersville, Georgia, the latest in a series of investments in the country.

The funding will go towards the upgrading of brewing equipment to fuel increased production of Michelob Ultra. Anheuser-Busch did not specify if other brands will see their production rate increased.

The investment forms part of AB InBev’s ‘Brewing Futures’, announced earlier this year, an initiative comprising $300m for its US manufacturing operations.

Notwithstanding the recent funding, the brewer has invested around $230m in the Cartersville brewery since 2020. The Georgia site is one of 12 breweries operated by Anheuser-Busch in the US.

This year alone, the US division has announced several site upgrades: $15m in Missouri last month, a $9m backing of its brewery in Baldwinsville, New York also in August; a $17m spend in Houston (June); a $4.2m investment in Williamsburg, Virginia (March), and a $16m expansion of production capacity at its Los Angeles facility earlier in the year.
