The US division of AB InBev has revealed its latest investment plan for one of its breweries in the country, this time in Missouri.

Anheuser-Busch has confirmed a US$15m spend on its flagship St Louis brewery in the state, which includes funding for “supply chain infrastructure”. At the same time as implementing upgrades, the division said it will also start to allow access to its on-site training facility for “local trade schools and other groups” in order to “further develop … the next generation of manufacturing talent”.

The funding forms part of AB InBev’s ‘Brewing Futures’ programme, a $300m initiative for its US manufacturing operations that was announced earlier this year.

The St Louis facility is one of 12 operated by Anheuser-Busch across the US.

This year alone, the US unit of AB InBev has announced several site upgrades: a $9m backing of its brewery in Baldwinsville, New York earlier this month; a $17m spend in Houston (June); a $4.2m investment in Williamsburg, Virginia (March), and a $16m expansion of production capacity at its Los Angeles facility earlier in the year.

‘We call it a balance of choices and we have a lot of different products in this area’ – Anheuser-Busch InBev CFO Fernando Tennenbaum speaks to Global Drinks Intel
