Foley Family Wines & Spirits has transitioned the VP of its international sales, Ryan Stewart, to its listed Foley Wines division in New Zealand.

Stewart (below) will become CCO of the Auckland-headquartered unit, overseeing the group’s New Zealand wine brands as well as the distribution partnership between Foley Wines and FFWS. Jay Gifford is now in charge of FFWS’s international markets, excluding the US.

Stewart, who has 20 years of global beverage industry experience, previously served as VP of international sales at FFWS in the US for six years. Prior to joining the group, he held leadership roles with Delicato in Asia Pacific.

Established in 1988 as Grove Mill Wine Co, the New Zealand subsidiary is the result of a merger in 2012 with Foley Family Wines NZ.  The unit then listed on the NZAX Board of the NZ Stock Exchange when this was first established in November 2003, then migrated to the NZX Main Board and changed its name to Foley Wines in late 2018.

Foley Wines’ major shareholder is Bill Foley who is a major investor in the US wine industry.

Earlier this year, FFWS announced it would take on the US distribution responsibilities for canned cocktail company Sabé Beverages.
