Netherlands-headquartered brewer Royal Swinkles has made its first foray into wine with the launch of new-to-market non-alcoholic brand BarLoca.
Royal Swinkles, which counts Bavaria, La Trappe and Rodenbach among its beer portfolio, announced the launch yesterday, posting a video advert (below) on social media. The canned wine comes in three variants: Bianco, Rosato and Rosso, each with an ABV of 0.0%.
BarLoca is made with dealcoholised Italian wine and comes in 25cl cans, which Royal Swinkles said helps to reduce waste. The wines are available direct to consumer via the brand’s website with an SRP of EUR2.79 (US$3.26) per can.
Global Drinks Intel has requested further information on the brand’s launch and plans for its rollout.
Elswehere in non-alcoholic-wine NPD, Invivo & Co last month unveiled an alcohol-free extension of Graham Norton’s namesake wine brand. In April, Trinchero Family Estates-backed Joel Gott Wines entered the ready-to-drink (RTD) category with canned-spritz range called Sauvy B.
