Ardgowan Distillery Co has rebranded and updated the namesake scotch whisky portfolio of its bottling business, Clydebuilt.
As part of the refresh, unveiled this week, an etched map of the distillery’s location has been added to each bottle, alongside new labels and giftboxes (above). The new packs will begin rolling out through the ‘specialist retail channel’ from today (6 October), Ardgowan said.
Alongside new packaging, Ardgowan has slimmed the Clydebuilt range down to two core SKUs – Sherry Cask Matured Single Malt and 100 Proof Sherry Cask Matured Single Malt, both of which are ten years old – and a limited-edition release, ten-year-old Candlebrae Single Malt. The trio carry SRPs of GBP45.99 (US$60.79), GBP63.99 and GBP55, respectively.
Founded in 2017, Ardgowan launched Clydebuilt in 2019 to produce single cask bottlings from other distilleries while the company waits for its own, namesake single malt to mature. The company said it invested GBP5m in mature malt whisky stocks in 2025 and projects it will spend an additional GBP4m this year.
“The refreshed branding gives Clydebuilt the premium presentation its whisky has long deserved,” said Ardgowan’s sales & marketing director, David Keir. “The eye-catching design brings greater clarity and confidence to the range, while the map of the Clyde links every bottle to the place it was created.
“It’s a brand we’re proud to be building, and one we see growing further internationally in the years ahead.”
Earlier this year, Ardgowan revealed it had converted some of its loan notes into cash and secured “substantial new funding” to allow “ongoing operations” to be supported.
