Pernod Ricard has hired US artist Brian Donnelly, known as Kaws, to design the latest bottle in Absolut Vodka’s Artist Edition line-up.
The design is the third launch under the limited-edition line, which debuted with an Andy Warhol-inspired pack in 2024, followed last year by a label based on Keith Haring’s work. Absolut Kaws features Donnelly’s signature double-X ‘tag’ and a yellow cartoon character.
As part of the partnership, Pernod Ricard also commissioned a painting (below) from Donnelly.
The Absolut Kaws Artist Edition bottle is available for pre-order from today (1 October) via the brand’s website and will be sold in “select” off-premise retailers in the US from an unspecified date.
The total number of bottles produced was not disclosed.
Absolut’s US VP of marketing, Caroline Begley, said: “The new Artist Edition is a bold expression of Absolut’s longstanding creative legacy and our belief that great art should be accessible to everyone.
“By bringing Kaws’ remarkable vision to one of our most iconic assets, we’re creating a cultural statement piece that celebrates creativity, self-expression and the power of art to connect people.”
Earlier this year, Pernod Ricard released three Absolut packs for Belgian festival Tomorrowland and, last year, launched limited-edition, green, Wicked-themed bottles.
