Rémy Cointreau has appointed Mumbai-based Monika Alcobev as its “exclusive” distribution and marketing partner in India.
The move, announced yesterday (10 August), marks a consolidation of the Rémy Martin owner’s presence in the country. Monika Alcobev already handles the cognac brand as well as Cointreau in a distribution and marketing capacity.
Details of which company had previously overseen the rest of Rémy Cointreau’s portfolio in India were not immediately available.
“Consolidating our presence across India with a single unified mandate and partner will undeniably strengthen our position on this market,” said group CMO Ian McLernon. “We are confident Monika Alcobev Limited teams will build and drive an ambitious and sustainable growth plan for our brands as well as creating memorable and culturally relevant experiences for the Indian consumer.
“We look forward to working with our partners Monika Alcobev to accelerate the growth and sustainable value we believe exists in the Indian market.”
Founded in 2015, Monika Alcobev undertook an initial public offering on Bombay Stock Exchange last year. The company took on the domestic distribution and marketing of the namesake bitters and rum portfolio of Angostura Holdings late last month.
