Vine Enterprises has outlined plans to invest “at least” US$47m to acquire and restore operations at New York State’s Pleasant Valley Winery.

Under a “multi-phased, multi-year initiative”, Vine Enterprises plans to relaunch unspecified “legacy brands” and reopen the site’s cellars to visitors. The investment will see 69 jobs created at the site, which is based in the Finger Lakes wine region, close to the Canadian border.

The work, which is expected to begin “this fall”, will be supported by state funding of “up to” US$12m, according to a release today (27 July) on the New York State Government website. Global Drinks Intel has asked for more information on Vine Enterprises, which appears to be a newly created holding company.

Pleasant Valley Winery was founded in 1860 and claims to be the second largest winery facility in the state of New York. Before its closure in 2025, the site offered commercial contract services for wineries and vineyards, including grape pressing, processing, bottling, packaging and bonded cold storage.

Vine Enterprises CEO Paul Hillen said: “We are pleased to be partnering with New York State on this multi-phased, multi-year initiative, which we believe will drive meaningful, long-term growth for the state’s wine industry.”
