Suntory Global Spirits has released details of the debut global marketing push – and brand ambassador – for the Hibiki Japanese whisky mark.
The campaign, titled ‘The Masterpiece of Japanese Artistry’, launches today (11 May) with a 30-second advert (below). Pachinko and Shōgun actor Anna Sawai, who fronts the spot, has also been named as the brand’s first global ambassador.
The spot will air throughout this year in Hibiki’s “key markets”, which include Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Germany, France, Italy, India, Mexico, ‘Northern Europe’, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Taiwan, the UK and the US. Specific channel – and financial – details were not disclosed.
The House of Suntory unit, which is responsible for the domestic spirits operations of Suntory Global Spirits’ parent, Suntory Holdings, has also partnered with Japanese kimono house Chiso for the installation of a kimono exhibition at the new JFK Airport in New York, which is expected to open next month.
Alongside the spot, House of Suntory has released two three-minute behind-the-scenes films showing Sawai visiting the studio behind Hibiki’s labels and a kimono atelier. Both have been published today on the company’s YouTube channel.
