Halo Drinks today announced the launch of its India platform, marking a strategic expansion into one of the fastest-evolving premium beverage markets globally.
India is no longer a future opportunity – it is a present, high-growth market where rising disposable incomes, global exposure and a more discerning consumer base are driving a shift from volume-led consumption to premium, experience-led choices. Across both alcoholic and non-alcoholic categories, demand is moving toward quality, provenance, and brand story.
However, for international brands, India remains structurally complex.
Distribution is fragmented and state-led, pricing varies significantly across regions, and demand is not driven by retail alone – it is shaped by bars, hotels, and cultural influence before translating into scale.
Halo Drinks has been built to operate within this reality.
Rather than approaching India as a traditional distribution play, the company is structured as a dual-market growth platform, combining brand-building in the UK with execution in India. In the UK, Halo focuses on credibility through top-tier bars, hospitality groups and media. In India, this translates into market entry, route-to-market and demand creation across key cities.
“India is not difficult because there is no demand – it is difficult because demand needs to be built differently,” said Greg Kimber, Co-Founder of Halo Drinks. “Our role is to ensure brands are not just available but correctly positioned and experienced from day one.”
With over 20 years across global beverage markets, Greg Kimber has built and scaled brands across the UK, Europe, and EMEA, including launching a gin distillery to GBP750,000 in revenue, securing national retail listings, and developing strong on-trade networks. His experience across distribution, P&L, and route-to-market forms the commercial foundation of Halo Drinks.
India strategy is led by Shreya Vashisht, India Director and Director Marketing & PR Halo Group, bringing a cross-market perspective spanning media, consulting, and hospitality.
Having worked across EY, UNICEF, the Government of India and led marketing for brands such as Coupette and curating concepts for London Cocktail Week & Bar Takeovers & Kingfisher for BKC, her focus has been on translating brand positioning into measurable demand. She has worked with global media platforms including The Wall Street Journal, CNBC, India Today Group, Cosmopolitan and Robb Report, and brings strong relationships across bar, media, and hospitality ecosystems in both the UK and India.
She also brings hands-on experience in PR, influencer marketing, and advertising in India, alongside advising Venture Garage and contributing to India’s startup ecosystem. Her work has been recognised by the World Women Congress and the Economic Times.
“India’s premium beverage market is fundamentally non-linear – pricing is state-driven, distribution is regulated, and demand is shaped by on-trade influence before scaling into retail,” said Shreya Vashisht. “For global brands, success comes from designing the entire value chain – from regulatory entry and distribution to cultural placement and repeat consumption.”
Supporting the India platform is Mr Anil Kumar Goyal, a serial entrepreneur and investor advising on legal and structural strategy, with over three decades of experience across corporate law, FEMA and cross-border structuring. Halo Drinks India is also advised by Vivek Kumar of Venture Garage, whose platform connects over 5,500 investors and has supported startups raising over US$132m, adding depth in scaling high-growth businesses.
Halo Drinks India has already established partnerships with national distributors, premium retail players and leading hospitality networks, creating a distribution backbone that spans the country. It is also aligned with key e-commerce and quick-commerce platforms driving premium consumption in urban India, alongside strong access to bars, hotels and high-value retail environments.
Its platform integrates bonded logistics, temperature-controlled supply chains, and data-led inventory systems to ensure precision, consistency, and scalability.
Beyond infrastructure, Halo Drinks operates a 360-degree market approach, combining distribution, premium placement, media visibility and consumer experiences to ensure brands are not just launched, but embedded within India’s evolving consumption culture.
As global beverage brands look toward India for expansion, Halo Drinks is positioned as a partner that brings both local execution and a global perspective.
“We are not just bringing brands into India,” said Greg Kimber. “We are building them for India.”
